Stráž beží v telefóne a každých 20 sekúnd (10 v režime Častejšia kontrola) porovná polohu z GPS s kruhom. Telefón potom spustí sirénu a pošle upozornenie. Stráž sleduje telefón, nie loď: hlási, kde je telefón voči kotve.

Čo stráž zaznamenáva

Od verzie 4.1.0 si stráž vedie záznam (čiernu skrinku): zapnutie s parametrami, výsledok kontroly a tvoje potvrdenie, skúšku sirény, súhrn každej minúty (počet polôh, najväčšia a posledná vzdialenosť od kotvy, presnosť, batéria) a každé rozhodnutie a udalosť – vlečenie, spustenie, stíšenie a koniec sirény a čím, strata a návrat GPS, spustenie, reštart alebo zastavenie služby, zmeny povolení, režimu Nerušiť a hlasitosti, zlyhanie úložiska, vypnutie stráže a kým.

The anchor watch: what it can and cannot do

Bonasea (app.bonasea.com, the Bonasea app for Android and iOS) · effective from version 4.1.0

The anchor watch is an aid that depends on the phone, GPS and battery. The skipper is responsible for the boat. It is not an emergency system and does not replace a proper watch, proper anchoring, VHF or an EPIRB. This page describes when the watch may not work or may not wake you, and what you can do about it.

How the watch works

When armed, it remembers the anchor position and a circle around it; you set the radius. The watch runs on the phone and every 20 seconds (10 in More frequent checks mode) compares the GPS position with the circle. It sounds the alarm when the boat is outside the circle plus a margin for GPS error (at most 25 m) on at least two readings, or at once when it is far outside. So from the moment the boat crosses the edge of the circle, tens of seconds pass before the siren – with a slow drag and a weak GPS signal several minutes. The phone then sounds the siren and posts a notification. The watch follows the phone, not the boat: it reports where the phone is relative to the anchor.

What to do before the night

What the watch records

Since version 4.1.0 the watch keeps a record (a black box): the arming with its parameters, the check's result and your confirmation, the siren test, a summary of every minute (fixes, the largest and last distance from the anchor, accuracy, battery) and every decision and event – dragging, the siren started, silenced and stopped and by what, GPS lost and back, the service started, restarted or stopped, changes of permissions, Do not disturb and volume, a failing store, the watch stopped and by whom. Once the phone is online the record uploads itself to your account, is kept for 90 days and shows as the timeline of the night in the logbook. It contains the precise anchor position and the boat's distances from it; the details are in the privacy policy.

Liability

Bonasea's safety features depend on the device, its operating system and signal, which are beyond our control; the duty of a proper watch stays with the skipper. What that means for liability is in section 5 of the terms of use. When something fails, write to support@bonasea.com – the watch's record helps us find out what happened.
